Trust

The IzDon Standard

Quick answer

IzDon is a connection platform, not a contractor. Before we pass your request to anyone, we confirm the business is real and reachable, that it genuinely performs the type of work you described, and that it serves your area. We also weigh public reputation, responsiveness and homeowner feedback. We do not perform the work, and we are upfront about the checks we do not yet perform.

What we check today

Business identity

We confirm the business name, a working contact method and the service area a professional says they cover before we pass a job along.

Service fit

We look at the trades and job types a professional actually performs, so a request only goes to people who do that kind of work.

Public reputation

We review publicly available information about a business, such as its online presence and public reviews, as one signal among several.

Responsiveness

We track whether professionals respond to homeowners. Professionals who repeatedly go silent stop receiving requests.

Homeowner feedback

Homeowners can tell us how a connection went, and that feedback affects who we send future jobs to.

What IzDon does not claim

  • We do not employ, supervise or direct the professionals you are connected with.
  • We do not perform the work, and we are not a licensed plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing or general contracting business.
  • We do not currently publish a formal licence, insurance or WSIB verification badge. Until we define and consistently perform that process, we will not display one.
  • We do not guarantee pricing, workmanship, timelines or availability.

We would rather under-promise here than publish a trust claim we cannot stand behind.

What you should still check yourself

  • Ask for the business name, and confirm it matches the quote and invoice.
  • Ask for proof of liability insurance, and WSIB clearance where it applies.
  • For electrical work, confirm the contractor is licensed with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA).
  • For fuel-burning appliance and gas work, confirm the technician holds the relevant TSSA certification.
  • Get the scope, materials, price and timeline in writing before work starts.
  • Be cautious about large up-front deposits, and never pay the full amount before the job is complete.

Useful Ontario sources: Electrical Safety Authority, TSSA and WSIB.
